HOUSTON - Wichita State women's tennis was unable to use its doubles point to propel themselves to victory in a 4-1 loss to Rice at the Brown Tennis Center on Friday.

Doubles
The duo of Natsumi Kurahashi and Alexandra Lazarova once again took care of their No. 3 opponent when they dispatched the Rice duo, 6-1. The ranked duo of Sarvinoz Saidhujaeva and Marta Bellucco shuck off their loss on Wednesday and beat Budin/El Jardi, 6-3.
 
Singles
Rice came out strong in singles and didn't hold back, beating the Shockers in straight sets on four straight courts to clinch the match.
 
Saidhujaeva shuck off a first set loss and fought to a five-all second set before the match was forced to go unfinished.
