PARKER, Colo. – Following two consecutive Colorado tournaments over the last two weeks, the Wichita State men's golf team makes its third and final trip to the Centennial State for the Paintbrush Invitational beginning Monday, October 4 and hosted by the University of Denver.

The invitational takes place in Parker, Colorado at the Colorado Golf Club.

Wichita State posted significantly improved scores across the board from the Ram Masters Invitational two weeks ago to last week's Mark Simpson Invitational, turning a +84 team score into a -14 scorecard in Erie.

Dawson Lewis led the way with a season-best 12th place finish, helping the Shockers finish 11th in the 17-team field.
This week's invitational features a smaller field of 11 schools: Ball State, BYU, Colorado State, Denver, Georgia State, Long Beach State, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Santa Clara, Wichita State and Wyoming. There will also be individual golfers from Air Force, Colorado and Oklahoma State.

Team rankings from the most recent Golfweek/Sagarin golf rankings as of Friday include BYU (33), Colorado State (52), Denver (85), Long Beach State (No. 100), Wyoming (108), Santa Clara (147), Northern Colorado (151), Ball State (152), Georgia State (160), North Dakota State (192). The Shockers are currently ranked 145th out of the 292 Division-I programs.

The field will play 36 holes on Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday, with an 9:45 AM CST shotgun start on both days. Fans can follow live scoring via golfstat.
The Shockers are off from tournament play next weekend, before wrapping up the fall portion of the schedule in Little Rock, Arkansas at the Little Rock Invitational (Oct. 18-19). The spring schedule then resumes the first week of March.
