WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State women's tennis is set to return to the courts for the first time as a team in 11 months when they kick off their 2021 season next month.
The Shockers start the season at home when they face Newman on Feb. 3 at 1:00 p.m., Iowa State on Feb. 5 at 1:00 p.m., and Louisville on Feb. 7 at 10:00 a.m. These matches are three of the five home matchups this season, with the other two being in the middle of March versus Kansas (March 20) and Xavier (March 21.)
Four teams on the schedule finished last season ranked. Arizona State finished ranked the highest at No. 18, with Central Florida (20), Kansas (32), and Oklahoma (49) filing in behind.
Home matches before March will be located at the Wichita Country Club unless the weather is favorable. The Coleman Tennis Complex will serve as the home location for all matches after February, weather permitting.

The team was unable to compete officially in the fall, but their hard work on the practice court was evident and they were able to test themselves by competing unattached in a few events. This spring our goal will be the same as it always is – to be a better team at the end of the season than at the beginning.
