For its outstanding work in the classroom, the Wichita State men's basketball program has been honored with a Team Academic Excellence Award by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
Â
To make the NABC list, teams must have posted a combined grade point average of 3.0-or-higher for the academic year. Shocker men's basketball players set a new program record in 2019-20, combining for a 3.20 GPA.
Â
A trio of individuals –
Jaime Echenique, Asbjorn Midtgaard and
Brycen Bush -- were named to the NABC Honors Court (upperclassmen with a 3.20 cumulative GPA who have been enrolled for at least one full year).Â
Â
Echenique capped off a successful spring that saw him earn all-conference honors on the hardwood by completing his degree in General Studies- Sociology.
