Shockers Drop First Match of Road Trip

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Wichita State women's tennis fell to Missouri, 4-0, in the first match of a four-match road swing at the Mizzou Tennis Complex in Columbia, Mo. on Friday.

The doubles competitions were back and forth affairs that could have swung either way. Ting-Ya Hsu and Natsumi Kurahashi forced the Missouri pair of Olivieira/Ventura to win seven games. The only ranked matchup of the match between No. 54 Sarvinoz Saidhujaeva and Marta Bellucco and No. 58 Nash/Goldin went unfinished because of a Mizzou win on court two.

Singles were short lived because of three two-set victories by the Tigers. Lingwei Kong forced a tiebreak in the second set on court three, but she was unable to force the third set and fell 6-3, 7-6 (0-4). Marta Bellucco forced a third set on court four, but the match went unfinished since Mizzou were the first to four.
