WICHITA, Kan. – No. 47 Wichita State battled its way to a 4-2 win over the UT Arlington Mustangs Friday at Genesis Health Club.

All-Americans Marius Frosa and Murkel Dellien got their first win as the No. 27 doubles pairing in the country on court one, defeating Alejandro Hayen and Miguel Cabrera, 6-3. Court three was the next to finish as Orel Ovil and Elio Lago fell to Eduard Simo and Alan Sau Franco, 4-6. This brought it all down to court two where Benjamin Niv and Stefan Latinovic fell in a heartbreaker to Angel Diaz and Solano Caffarena, 6-7, that gave the Mustangs the doubles point.
The Shockers came surging back in singles with Dellien and Latinovic secured quick wins over Hayen, 6-4, 6-3, and Alban, 6-0, 7-6, respectively. Ovil followed close behind his teammates getting a victory over Cabrera, 6-4, 6-0, to give the Shocks a 3-1 lead. Lago tried to make a run at a third set but fell short versus Diaz, 3-6, 6-7, which brought the Mustangs within one. The clincher then came from court six, as Niv came back from being down 1-5 to win the third set 7-5 and seal the win for WSU.
