Tournament Schedule
Feb. 21 vs. Louisville at 1:30 p.m., and at Alabama at 4 p.m.
Feb. 22 vs. Louisville at 11 a.m., and vs. Penn State at 6 p.m.
Feb. 23 vs. Penn State at 11 a.m.
 
WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State softball travels to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to compete in the Easton Bama Bash from Feb. 21-23 at Rhoads Stadium. They will compete against No. 10/9 Alabama once and Louisville and Penn State twice.
 
TOP OF THE BOARD
The Shockers are Top 25 in the nation in six statistics; batting average (.344), doubles per game (1.91), OBP (.434), scoring (7.18), slugging (.536), and walks (42).
 
OFFENSIVE MACHINE
Neleigh Herring is 12th in the country in hits (16), 21st in home runs (4), 13th in RBIs (15), and 13th in total bases (31). All of these marks also lead the AAC.
 
Scouting the Field
 
Louisville
The Cardinals competed at the ACC/Big Ten Softball Challenge in Chapel Hill, N.C., and went 1-3 with their only win coming against Wisconsin. They lost twice to No. 11/8 Michigan and once to Wisconsin. Senior Celene Funke was recently named a Senior CLASS Award candidate.  Junior second baseman Maddy Newman leads the team in average with at least 20 plate appearances (.323) and redshirt sophomore Taylor Roby leads the team in OPS (1.285), home runs (4) and slugging (.833). Roby also has performed in the circle, leading the team in ERA (1.91), strikeouts (21) and wins (2-3).
 
Series History
This will be the first meeting all-time between the Shockers and the Cardinals.
 
Alabama
Alabama competed at the St.Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational last weekend. They picked up a win over No. 1/1 Washington, Liberty, and USF but fell to No. 3/2 UCLA and No. 16/16 Oklahoma State. Freshman Lexi Kilfoyl was named the SEC Softball Freshman of the Week for her strong outing against Washington. She pitched a one-hit shutout against the Huskies. She struck out 16 at the tournament and only allowed five runs in four appearances. Junior outfielder Kaylee Tow is one of the Tide's leaders in the batters box, hitting .321 with 7 RBIs and one home run.  
 
Series History
This will be the third meeting between Alabama and Wichita State. The series is tied at 1-1.
 
Last Meeting with the Crimson Tide
The teams last met at the LaQuinta Inn and Suites Tournament in 2013. The Shockers faced a No. 1 Alabama team and dropped a close decision, 2-0.
 
Penn State
The Nittany Lions competed in the UCF Knights Classic last weekend and went 2-3. They lost to FAU once and Villanova twice, and picked up a win over FAU and Iowa State. Freshman Kaitlyn Morrison leads the team with a .441 batting average and is setting the pace in doubles (4), OPS (1.147) and home runs (1). Bailey Parshall leads Penn State in innings pitched (30.2) and has a 2.51 ERA with a 2-0 record. 
 
Series History
This will be the second meeting between Penn State and Wichita State. The Nittany Lions lead the series with one win.
 
Last Meeting with the Nittany Lions
The teams met last season at the Carolina Classic in 2008 where Penn State picked up a 4-0 win.
