WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita State men's tennis team picked up their first victory of the season in dominating fashion, defeating the Omaha Mavericks 6-1 at Genesis Health Club on Sunday, January 19.
The Mavericks stole the doubles point from the Shockers, but after that, WSU found their stride and won every singles match to secure a win. Freshmen Alex Richards and Yi Jui Lo picked up their first ever collegiate doubles victory when they defeated Hugo Piles Ballester and Ethan Henry in doubles, 6-3. Richards also claimed his first collegiate singles against Alvaro Quintana of Omaha, 6-1, 6-0.

WSU will be back in action on January 25, as they travel down to Arkansas to compete in the Arkansas Quad. Over two days they will face off against Middle Tennessee, Arkansas, and Drake.
