FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Wichita State men's golf team saved its best for last at the Ram Masters Invitational.
 
WSU finished 15th out of 17 teams but ranked in the top-half in third-round scoring (+9, 289) thanks to a resurgent performance from the lower portion of its lineup.
 
After a forgettable Monday, Lake Leroux (82-75-69 – 226) navigated Tuesday's final round at 1-under-par to climb 14 spots on the leaderboard. His 69 was a season-low and one of the 10-best third-round scores among the field of 96 golfers.
 
In addition to Leroux, Grayson Wallace (80-80-73 – 233) and Joe Bultman (80-75-73 – 233) also wrapped up tournament play with their lowest rounds of the week.
 
Zac Owens (71-71-73 – 215) staked the Shockers' best overall finish, tying for 27th. He opened the back-nine of Tuesday's final round with his third eagle of the young season on a 575-yard, par-5.
 
Dawson Lewis (71-73-74 – 218) landed 50th but showed flashes of brilliance. His 12 birdies tied for fifth-most among the 96 individual entries in the field.
 
Colorado State defended its home course with a 14-stroke win over second-place Wyoming. UTEP's Oskar Ambrosius (-9, 201) ran away with the individual medalist honor by six shots.
 
The Shockers have 17 days before their next action. They'll head to Shreveport, La. on Oct. 5-6 to compete in the David Toms Intercollegiate.
