GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Wichita State men's golf team concluded the first round of play at the Furman Intercollegiate on Friday.

Wichita State is tied for 16th after compiling a 308 team score. Senior Yannik Emmert leads the way after a 72 in the first round.

Shooting par in his first nine holes, Emmert collected two birdies to come in second heading into the final nine holes. Emmert finished with a 1-over par performance, to place him in a tie for 20th.

Brock Polhill tallied a 74 in the first round, while Zac Owens finished with a 78 to tie for 83rd. Dawson Lewis and Palmer Hays are tied for 114th with an 84 after the first round.

Virginia Tech leads the team standings after shooting a 281, leading Coastal Carolina by one stroke and Davidson with a 283. Cincinnati is tied for 11th and currently leads the Shockers in the head-to-head battle.

The Shockers are scheduled to tee-off at 8:10 a.m. CT tomorrow. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat.
