WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita State women's team fell to No. 8 Oklahoma State Sunday, 4-0, at the Wichita Country Club.
 
DOUBLES
On court three, LingWei Kong and Ting-Ya Hsu fell to OSU's Bunyawi Thamchaiwat and Tamara Arnold, 6-0. The Cowgirls clinched the doubles point when Katarina Stresnakova and Marina Guinart defeated Esther Thebault and Sarvinoz Saidhujaeva (6-2). Fatima Bizhukova and Marta Bellucco teamed up for the first time since the fall season, and took on No. 21 Sofia Blanco and Catherine Gulihur in the top slot. The No.46-ranked Shocker duo lead 5-3 before going unfinished.
 
SINGLES
The Shockers adjusted the singles lineup, forcing a forfeit in the sixth flight. Tamara Arnold claimed the win for the Cowgirls, giving them an early 2-0 lead. Kong slid up to the No. 2 slot for the Shockers where she was defeated by No. 117 Lisa Marie Rioux in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0. OSU clinched the match in the fourth flight when Marina Guinart, who ranks No. 83 in ITA/Oracle Singles Rankings, defeated Hsu. Hsu took an early 3-2 lead in the second before Guinart rallied to the match.
 
Bizhukova split the first two sets with No.26 Stresnakova in her first match of the spring, (0-6, 6-2) before play was suspended in the top flight. Saidhujaeva was down a set and trailed 4-3 in the second to Thamchaiwat before going unfinished. The match between Lazarova and OSU's Blanco, who ranks No. 124, did not start due to the match being finished.
 
The Shockers will look to bounce back tomorrow when they take on No. 39 Gonzaga at the Wichita Country Club. The match is scheduled for 10 a.m.
