About the Shocker Women:
Wichita State (14-17, 9-7 American) closed out its first season under head coach
Keitha Adams by winning nine of its last 13 regular season games. Eight seniors graduated, but a new group looks to continue that momentum into 2018-19. Holdovers
Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage,
Cesaria Ambrosio,
Alyssia Faye anchor a young but talented core. The remaining roster includes 10 newcomers along with two others --
Raven Prince and
Asia Henderson -- who are coming off of redshirt years. Wichita State hosts Missouri Southern State for an exhibition tune-up on Thursday, Nov. 1 then opens the regular season on Wednesday, Nov. 7 against Arkansas Pine Bluff.
Â
About the Shocker Men:
Gregg Marshall has an almost entirely new team, but the goal hasn't changed. Despite losing six seniors, plus sophomore
Landry Shamet to the NBA Draft, WSU (25-8, 14-4 American) will look to extend its string of nine straight 25-win seasons and seven consecutive NCAA tournament appearances. Senior forward
Markis McDuffie lends experience to a roster that includes 11 newcomers. The team hosts Catawba (N.C.) in an Oct. 30 exhibition and opens Nov. 6 versus Louisiana Tech.
