WICHITA, Kan. - Compiling 16 hits as a team in Sunday's fall matchup against Central Oklahoma, the Wichita State softball team came out with a 13-2 win on Sunday at Wilkins Stadium.

Senior Bailey Lange led the Shockers with a 2-for-4 performance at the plate, adding a home run and six strikeouts in the circle. Junior Ryleigh Buck went 3-for-5 with an RBI, while sophomore Neleigh Herring came up with three hits in three at-bats.

A single from senior Laurie Derrico allowed freshman Adeline Reese to score the game's first run, with a stolen base allowing Buck to score on the throw to second. Sophomore Bailee Nickerson drew a bases loaded walk that allowed the Shockers to take a 3-0 lead at the end of the first, continuing that momentum the following inning.

Derrico's double to left-center allowed Buck and Lange to score and pushed the Shockers out to a five-run lead.

After Lange's solo home run in the bottom of the fourth inning, doubles from freshman Reese and Buck scored two more runs for Wichita State. Junior Madison Perrigan extended the lead with a single down the left field line that allowed Buck to score, with Nickerson adding to the lead by hitting into a groundout that allowed Derrico to score the inning's fourth run.

The Shockers added two runs in the bottom of the eighth, with UCO committing an outfield error that allowed Herring to score. A sacrifice fly to center field from sophomore Wylie Glover allowed freshman Kasidee Eck to score from third, with Glover later driving in the game's final run with an RBI double to left field in the bottom of the 10th.

Wichita State continues its fall campaign on Friday, taking on Seminole State at 5 p.m. at Wilkins Stadium.
