SCOUTING ECU
The Pirates have found form in the past week, handing American Athletic Conference leaders USF their first series loss of the season last weekend and following it up with a 2-1 victory over in-state rival North Carolina State midweek; winning on a walk-off RBI single. Sporting a 22-26 record, 7-8 in conference play, ECU still have a chance of climbing The American with six games left but must take a series win over the Shockers this weekend to have a realistic shot.
SERIES HISTORY
The teams have met once at a tournament held in South Carolina in 1999.
LAST MEETING WITH THE PIRATES
The Shockers have played ECU once in history, a 1-0 victory back in March, 1999, at the Ringor Invitational held in Rock Hill, S.C.
