HOUSTON, Texas – Houston used a two-run sixth inning to defeat Wichita State 3-1 and sweep the three-game series.
Travis Young went 2-for-3, while
Greyson Jenista had a RBI.
Starter
Tyler Davis went four innings and gave up one run on four hits with no walks and three strikeouts.
Jordan Boyer walked to lead off the fifth and moved to third on a single by
Travis Young. With one out,
Greyson Jenista's groundout scored Boyer for a 1-0 Shocker lead.
The Cougars tied it in the bottom of the fifth. Cooper Coldiron led off with a double and scored on a two-out single from Connor Hollis to tie the score at one.
With two outs in the sixth, Coldiron came through with a two-run double to put the Cougars on top 3-1.
The Shockers are next in action on Tue., April 24 at Kansas at 6 p.m.
