WICHITA, Kan. -- The Wichita State men's tennis team will host Denver and Washburn on Sun., April 9 at the Coleman Tennis Complex for a doubleheader. WSU will first face Denver at 11:00 a.m., followed by a 3 p.m. contest with Washburn.

Wichita State (11-10, 1-1 MVC) split a pair of MVC contests on the road last weekend, sweeping Illinois State 7-0 on Fri., March 31, and then losing to Southern Illinois 1-4. Haru Inoue is the lone ranked Shocker, coming in at No. 94 in this week's Oracle/ITA rankings. The sophomore is currently tied with Eddie Stoica for a team-high 20 wins overall on the season, and is 8-4 when playing in the top flight of duals. Newcomer Marius Frosa (14-5) has been on a hot stretch, having won four-straight and earning playing time in the second and third flights after starting off with a 6-2 record in the fifth flight at the beginning of the semester. Frosa and Murkel Dellien have been the most consistent duo for the Shockers, coming into Sunday with an 8-3 record.

Denver (8-10, 1-0 The Summit) has won two of their last three, which includes a 4-3 win over MVC member Drake, and a 2-4 loss to No. 37 Rice. Alex Gasson and Yannik James are the lone ranked players for the Pioneers, currently listed at No. 29 in the doubles ranks.

Washburn (11-3, 2-2 KCAC) is currently ranked no. 35 in the Division II rankings. For the Ichabods, Alejandro Valarezo (18-7 overall, 10-4 in duals) is listed at No. 31 in singles play. In doubles, Valarezo and Blake Hunter are undefeated in duals at 12-0, and are currently ranked No. 15. Wichita State marks the first Division I opponent for the Ichabods this year.

Last year, WSU defeated Washburn 4-1 in Wichita. No. 52 Denver beat No. 67 WSU in a back-and-forth 4-3 contest in Denver.

Looking Ahead:
WSU will be at home next weekend, hosting fellow Valley contender Drake on Sat., April 15 at 11:30 a.m., and then UTSA on Sun., April 16 at 11 a.m. Both matches will be at the Coleman Tennis Complex.
