RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech scored eight runs in the first inning and seven in the sixth inning to defeat Wichita State 15-1 in game two of a three-game series.
Travis Young went 2-for-2 with a double and a RBI, while
Alec Bohm and
Dayton Dugas each went 2-for-4.
Shocker starter
Cody Tyler went 0.2 innings and gave up seven runs, four earned, on five hits with one walk and one strikeout.
LaTech scored the eight runs in the first on seven hits, one error, one walk and a hit batsman. The inning was highlighted by home runs from Cody Daigle and Jordan Washam.
The Shockers got on the board in the second inning.
Trey Vickers was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning and came around to score on a two-out double by
Travis Young to cut the lead to 8-1.
The Bulldogs added seven more in the sixth to increase the lead to 15-1.
The Shockers and Bulldogs wrap up the series on Sun., March 5 at 1 p.m.
