TULSA, Okla. - The Wichita State men's tennis team defeated Oral Roberts 5-1 this evening at the Philcrest Hills Tennis Club.

ORU earned their lone point in doubles play, as Jan Panhec/Kenneth Boykin defeated Eddie Stoica/Haru Inoue 6-3 in the top doubles flight, while Michael Sosnowski/Alvaro Santamaria beat Vitor Mendes/Marius Frosa 6-2 in the third flight. Barnabas Koncz/Amar Saletovic and Jocelyn Devilliers/Murkel Dellien were deadlocked at 4-4, but was unfinished after Oral Roberts clinched the point.

Inoue (6-3, 6-3), Miroslav Herzan (3-6, 6-3, 6-1), Devilliers (7-5, 6-4), Stoica (6-1, 6-4) and Frosa (3-6, 6-4, 6-4) picked up wins in the top five singles flights respectively to earn the victory for the Shockers. Dellien led his match in the sixth slot 4-1 before the dual was final.

The Shockers (3-4) split the weekend in Oklahoma, going 1-1 after a loss to No. 14 Oklahoma on Friday. WSU will have another weekend road trip next, this time in Texas. WSU will head to Austin, Texas to face Texas A&M - Corpus Christi on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m., and then Texas on Friday, Feb. 24 at 4:30 p.m. Both matches will be played at the Weller Indoor Tennis Center.
