LUBBOCK, Texas - The Wichita State men's tennis team lost their dual 5-2 last night against Texas Tech inside the Lubbock Country Club.

Miroslav Herzan and Murkel Dellien picked up the two points for the Shockers. In the second singles slot, Herzan defeated Alex Sendegeya 6-0, 6-4. Dellien earned his first career win as a Shocker - having joined the team about two weeks ago - by beating Pyry Hyrkkonen 7-6 (8-6), 6-4 in the sixth spot.

The Red Raiders, who are receiving votes in the Oracle/ITA rankings, swept WSU in doubles play to win the doubles point, with the Herzan/Haru Inoue vs. No. 60 Sendegeya/Bjorn Thomson going unfinished. Texas Tech's ranked trio of No. 25 Jolan Cailleau, No. 104 Connor Curry and No. 120 Ronit Bisht all picked up singles wins over the Shockers.

WSU is now 0-2 in duals on the season. The Shockers will return to Texas to seek their first win(s) on Jan. 28-29 at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Fort Worth, where they will play Utah State on both days.
