WICHITA, Kan. – Junior
Emily Hiebert recorded her 3,000th career assist to lead the Wichita State volleyball team past Evansville 3-0 on Monday night inside Charles Koch Arena.The Shockers won by scores of 25-15, 25-7 and 25-12.
Hiebert, the seventh Shocker to reach 3,000 assists in a career, contributed 31 assists in the Wichita State victory.
Tabitha Brown added nine kills in a balanced attack that saw five Shockers record six or more kills.
Tabitha Brown ignited the Wichita State offense with two-straight kills to begin the first set. Down 8-7 later in the set, the Shockers rattled off seven consecutive points to pull ahead 14-8.
Hanna Shelton's ace put Wichita State up 19-14 and fueled another run by the home team, this time seven-straight points, to put the Shockers ahead 24-14. Wichita State went on to win the first set, 25-15.

Gabi Mostrom gave the Shockers a 7-5 lead early in the second set. A block by Raudsepp and Lehman stretched the lead to 10-6 and forced Evansville to take a timeout. Later in the set a kill by Raudsepp off Hiebert's 3,000
th career assist gave Wichita State a 15-6 advantage. The Shockers used an 18-1 run to close out the set and won, 25-7.
A 6-2 Shocker lead early in the third set forced Evansville to take a timeout and the home team did not look back, taking the deciding set 25-12.
The Shockers are next in action on Fri., Sept. 30 when they play at Drake at 7 p.m. in Des Moines, Iowa.
