FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Wichita State hit .429 as a team and swept Samford by scores of 25-19, 25-16 and 25-15.
Abbie Lehman led the Shockers with 11 kills, while
Jody Larson finished with 10 kills.
Emily Hiebert had 32 assists and
Giorgia Civita had 13 digs.
The Shockers raced out to a 10-4 led in the first set after back-to-back kills from
Abbie Lehman. A kill by
Mikaela Raudsepp increased the lead to 17-11, but the Bulldogs used a 6-0 run to pull within 20-18. WSU scored five of the final six points to win the set 25-19.

Jody Larson gave WSU an early 5-2 lead, but the Bulldogs came back to take a 10-9 lead. WSU used a 10-0 run to go in front 19-10 and closed out the set with a 25-16 win.
The third set went back and forth until the Shockers used a 6-0 run to take a 17-9 lead. A Raudsepp kill increased the lead to 20-12 and WSU won the set 25-15.
The Shockers are next in action on Fri., Sept. 16 when they travel to San Antonio, Texas, for the Roadrunners Roundup. They will face Texas Tech at 9 a.m. on Friday.
