Seven Shockers Named All-Valley
Seven Wichita State baseball student-athletes have been named to the 2016 All-Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Team, as voted on by the league coaches.  
Sophomore shortstop Trey Vickers was named to the first team, while freshman first baseman Greyson Jenista, freshman designated hitter Alec Bohm, freshman outfielder Dayton Dugas and sophomore starting pitcher Cody Tyler were named to the second team.
Sophomore catcher Gunnar Troutwine and senior outfielder Mikel Mucha were named to the honorable mention team.

Jenista Named Co-Freshman of the Year
Freshman first baseman Greyson Jenista was named the Missouri Valley Conference Co-Freshman of the Year. He is the just the fourth Shocker to win the award joining Mike Pelfrey (2003), Damon Sublett (2005) and Aaron Shafer (2006).

MVC Tourney History
Wichita State will be making its 39th-straight appearance in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.  The Shockers have won 17 tournament titles and own a tournament record of 99-48-1.  WSU last won the tournament championship in 2009. The Shockers have an overall record of 99-48-1 (.672) in the Valley Tournament and are 17-8 (.680) in the championship game.
 
Shockers vs. Braves
Wichita State is the No. 6 seed in the MVC Tournament and will face No. 3 seed Bradley in the first round.  The Shockers are 10-3 all-time against the Braves in the MVC Tournament.

Last Meeting vs. BU
The last meeting between the two teams was a three-game series April 22-24, 2016 in Wichita.   WSU won game one 7-5 and game three 10-9 in 10 innings. BU took game two 8-4. Trey Vickers went 5-for-10 in the series, while Dayton Dugas went 4-for-8 and Alec Bohm went 6-for-13. Cody Tyler and Codi Heuer each earned a win, while Chase Williams took the loss.

Mucha Joins 200 Hit Club
On May 20 against Dallas Baptist, senior outfielder Mikel Mucha collected his 200th career hit. He became the 55th Shocker to reach that milestone and the first since Casey Gillaspie in 2014.

Senior Day
Wichita State's seniors led the Shockers to a 4-3 win over Dallas Baptist on Senior Day on May 21. Senior Ryan Tinkham went 2-for-3 with two RBI and the game-winning home run in the eighth inning. Senior Tanner Kirk went 1-for-2 with two RBI and a home run, while senior Chase Williams pitched 1.1 shutout innings for the win and senior John Hayes pitched a scoreless ninth for the save.

MVC Tourney in Terre Haute
WSU holds a record of 5-2 overall in the tournament in Terre Haute, Ind. In 1982, the Shockers went 3-0 in Terre Haute to win the championship and in 2014 they went 2-2.

Reding's Streak
Senior designated hitter Zach Reding is currently on a career-best eight-game hitting streak. During the streak, he is 11-for-25 (.440) with three doubles, two home runs and six RBI.

Young Takes Off
Freshman outfielder Travis Young had his six-game hitting streak snapped on Saturday, but over the past eight-games he has put up impressive numbers. He is 13-for-27 (.481) with one double, one home run and 10 RBI over his last eight games.
