Dallas Baptist Takes Game Two, 7-5

WICHITA, Kan. – Darick Hall threw five strong innings and Dallas Baptist held on to beat Wichita State 7-5 in game two of a three-game series.

Greyson Jenista went 2-for-3 with a RBI and a home run, while Alec Bohm went 1-for-4 with two RBI and a home run.

The Patriots got on the board in the top of the second. Darick Hall led off with a double and Austin Listi followed with a home run to centerfield to put DBU up 2-0.

DBU added an unearned run in the third and a solo home run from Camden Duzenack in the fourth to increase the lead to 4-0.

The Shockers cut into the lead in the bottom of the fourth with a two-run home run from Alec Bohm to make the score 4-2.

The Patriots broke it open with three runs in the fifth. David Martinelli and Justin Wall both singled and a walk to Hall loaded the bases. Listi followed with a two-run double and Duzenack's sacrifice fly increased the lead to 7-2.

Mikel Mucha led off the fifth with a single up the middle, moved to second on a wild pitch and went to third on a fly ball from Gunnar Troutwine. He scored on a two-out single from Travis Young to pull the Shocks within 7-3.

Greyson Jenista led off the sixth with a home run to left-center and with one out, Zach Reding doubled to right field. Reding came around to score on an infield single from Mucha to cut the lead to 7-5. With the single, Mucha became the 55th player in Shocker history to record 200 career hits.

The Shockers and Patriots wrap up the series on Sat., May 21 at 2 p.m. at Eck Stadium.
