WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State won the final home game of the regular season 4-3 against No. 29 Dallas Baptist.
The Shockers were led by
Ryan Tinkham who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a home run.
Tanner Kirk was 1-for-2 and two RBI and a home run.
Kirk hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth, driving in
Dayton Dugas who doubled to center and giving WSU a 2-0 lead.
Dallas Baptist answered in the fifth inning. Trooper Reynolds singled and scored on a passed ball and Matt Duce's double drove in Camden Duzenack, who reached on a double down the left field line. David Martinelli's sacrifice fly allowed Duce to score and put the Patriots up 3-2.
In the bottom of the fifth, Mucha reached on a walk and stole second and third base. Tinkham hit a sacrifice fly to right and Mucha beat the throw home to tie the game 3-3.
Tinkham hit the game-winning solo home run in the eighth for the final score 4-3.
The Shockers are next in action at the Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Tournament in Terre Haute, Ind., May 25-28.
