WICHITA, Kan. - Willie Schwanke threw seven shutout innings to lead Wichita State to a 2-0 victory over Sam Houston State.

Schwanke allowed just four hits with no walks and a career-high eight strikeouts.

Cody Tyler pitched two shutout innings to earn the save.

Greyson Jenista went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a double, while Gunnar Troutwine went 2-for-4.

The Shockers scored the only runs of the game in the bottom of the fourth. Ryan Tinkham led off with a single and moved to second on a single by Troutwine. Mikel Mucha singled to load the bases and Jenista followed with a double to centerfield to score Tinkham and Troutwine for the 2-0 lead.

The Shockers and Bearkats wrap up the series on Sun., March 6 at 1 p.m. at Eck Stadium.
