NORMAN, Okla. - The No. 18 team in the country lived up to its ranking on a day when Oklahoma defeated Wichita State, 4-0, Tuesday afternoon at the Headington Family Tennis Center.
Wichita State dropped to 13-9 overall this season, while the Shockers also had their four-match winning streak end. OU improved to 9-7 with the victory.
The Sooners collected the doubles point to open the match with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. From there, Oklahoma would go on to claim victories in singles play at positions No. 1, No. 2 and No. 6.
It is just the second time this season WSU has been shut out in a match, with the other coming against then-No. 9 Ohio State at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend.
