Photo GalleryLINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska scored three runs in the sixth inning and went on to beat Wichita State 4-0 in game two of a three-game series.
Tanner Kirk went 2-for-4 with a double for the Shockers.
Starter
Zach Lewis went 5.1 innings and gave up three runs on five hits with two walks and six strikeouts.
The Huskers finally broke through in the bottom of the sixth. With one out, Ryan Boldt singled and Jake Placzek followed with a walk. Ben Miller's single scored Boldt, Scott Schreiber's double scored Placzek and Jesse Wilkening's single scored Miller for a 3-0 Nebraska lead.
Steven Reveles doubled to lead off the seventh and scored on a sacrifice fly from Placzek for a 4-0 Husker lead.
The Shockers and Huskers wrap up the series on Sun., March 20 at 12 p.m.
