Nebraska Takes Series With 7-3 Win

LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska earned a series win with a 7-3 victory over Wichita State in game three of the series.

Greyson Jenista went 2-for-4 with two RBI for the Shockers.

Starter Clayton McGinness went two innings and gave up five runs on five hits with one walk and two strikeouts.

Nebraska wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. With one out, Jake Placzek homered and with two outs Scott Schreiber was hit by a pitch. Jake Meyers followed with a RBI triple to put the Huskers up 2-0.

The Huskers increased their lead in the third inning. They loaded the bases with no outs and used a sac fly, two singles and an error to score four runs and increase the lead to 6-0.

Ryan Boldt's solo home run in the sixth gave the Huskers a 7-0 lead.

The Shockers got on the board in the top of the eighth. Jordan Boyer, Tanner Kirk and Mikel Mucha all walked and Ryan Tinkham's sacrifice fly scored Boyer to break up the shutout. With two outs, Greyson Jenista singled up the middle to score Kirk and Mucha and cut the lead to 7-3.

The Shockers are next in action on Tue., March 22 when they host Oklahoma State at 6:30 p.m. at Eck Stadium.
