WICHITA, Kan. – No. 65 Wichita State continues its homestand this weekend when the Shockers welcome Georgia State on Saturday at noon and No. 66 Iowa on Sunday at 11 a.m. Both matches will be played outdoors at the Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex.
Last Time OutThe Shockers went 2-0 over the weekend in the first of six straight home matches. WSU was able to outlast Nebraska, 4-3, on Friday and swept New Mexico State, 7-0, on Sunday. Against the Huskers, Wichita State claimed the doubles point and received wins in singles at Nos. 2, 5 and 6. Freshman
Haru Inoue clinched the win for WSU at No. 5 with his three-set battle against Andrew Dzulynsky, 6-2, 5-7, 7-6(3). The Shockers then overpowered New Mexico State on Sunday in a match where not one singles match needed three sets.
Wichita State NotablesThe Shockers moved up two spots to No. 65 in the Oracle/ITA Team Rankings.
Tin Ostojic and
Miroslav Herzan remain at No. 95 and No. 121 to lead WSU in singles. In the ITA Doubles Rankings, Herzan and Inoue are ranked No. 22 after starting the spring slate at No. 34. Ostojic and partner

About Georgia StateThe Panthers venture to Wichita with a 4-2 mark that includes wins over Furman (5-2), Mercer (5-2), Lipscomb (7-0) and Emory (6-1). Georgia State's losses came to No. 65 Alabama (6-1) and No. 44 Georgia Tech (6-1).
About No. 66 IowaThe Hawkeyes also enter the weekend sporting a 4-2 record. Iowa owns wins against No. 70 Utah State (7-0), No. 47 Cornell (4-2), SIU-Edwardsville (7-0) and Western Michigan (6-1). Iowa dropped matches vs. No. 34 Princeton (6-1) and Middle Tennessee State (6-1). The Hawkeyes dropped four spots in the most recent ITA rankings that were released Wednesday.
