SNU Postgame Quotables

HEAD COACH GREGG MARSHALL ON…

…The win tonight
"This game was well-timed, and we needed a game after the weekend. We know the biggest game of the week is Saturday, our first true road test. I don't know how much better we got tonight, but it's a 30-point win, so we'll take it."

…Changes to the starting lineup
"All things were considered. In the end, there were just a couple of factors and it went right up to the game-time before we made that decision. It seems whoever we start doesn't play as well as whoever comes off the bench. All spots were open, and still are."

…Seeing better execution and attention to detail
"I thought our motion offense was pretty good. We are pushing the ball in transition much better. Moving the ball and sharing the ball, cutting pretty well."

…Daishon pushing the ball in transition
"He does a great job of spraying the ball in transition. He's much better at that than the other point guards."

…The improvement of Rauno Nurger in his junior season
"He's playing well on both ends. He's rebounding, defending. He can score the basketball inside and out, as we've seen. He gives us great effort. He is certainly a guy that we are counting on in our rotation."

Shaquille Morris' play against SNU
"Tonight he was 7-for-10 from the field, and had some big boy moves. We'll see if he can do that on Saturday against Colorado State's players and whoever else we have after that.  He handled coming off the bench very well. "

 ZACH BROWN ON…

…The team's performance coming off back-to-back losses
"Yeah, I would say we responded pretty well. This was a game for us to get our groove back and bounce back to where we needed to be, and I feel like we did that pretty well in the first half. Second half, not quite as well. It's all a process and we're going to get everything together as much as we need to be and do what we need to do to win big games like coming up on Saturday."

…Coming off the bench for the first time since early last season
"It has always been kind of different for me coming off the bench, but you really don't have any control over that, the coaches do. They made a decision and you just have to play how you are supposed to play no matter if you are coming off the bench or starting, you are always going to have to play no matter what and play to the best of your ability."

 SHAQUILLE MORRIS ON…

…the team responding after consecutive losses in the Bahamas
"This game was pretty much [about us doing] all the things we need to do to get better. We used it as a tool, knowing that we are going to watch film over this."

…if he felt more inspired coming off the bench.
"I am inspired every time I step between the lines... Coming off the bench, starting, anything, every time you get a chance to play the game you love, you have to be inspired."

…the improvement of Rauno Nurger.
"Every time he steps on the court, he brings a lot of passion and hard work, and he tries hard. He's definitely been helping our team in every single way. Like I said earlier -- the big-little things -- he does them."

LANDRY SHAMET ON…

…bouncing back from the Bahamas.
"Just kind of refocus as a whole. We wanted both of those wins really bad down in the Bahamas but realizing how quick turnarounds there are, so you have to be ready to get right back out there. Me personally, I know I didn't play very well. I didn't shoot very well those last two losses, so just trying to stay positive continue to do what coaches tell me to do."
