Photo GalleryWICHITA, Kan. – The Shockers fell to #7 Illinois 3-0, with scores of 19-25, 13-25 and 13-25. It was the Shockers first loss in the Shocker Volleyball Classic.
Illinois' Jocelynn Birks and Michelle Strizak each had 14 kills to lead the Illini, and the team hit .308 for the match.
Mikaela Raudsepp led the team with 7 kills.
Emily Hiebert led the team with 21 assists, and added 4 block assists.
Dani Mostrom had a team-high 13 digs.
Illinois took an early 4-1 lead in set one, and a kill by
Katie Reilly pulled the Shockers within 3 at 4-7. Hiebert's first kill of the set brought the score to 8-14, but Illinois pulled away late in the set winning 25-19.
The Shockers couldn't quite get started against the Illini in the second set, calling a timeout trailing 4-12 to try and close the gap. A pair of kills by Reilly and
Abbie Lehman helped the Shockers shorten the lead, but WSU dropped the set 13-25. Illinois hit .433 in the set.
Set three started strong with Reilly's fourth kill of the match. Five kills by Raudsepp helped WSU pull within six points 11-17, but the Shockers couldn't overcome the deficit and they fell 13-25.

Abbie Lehman were all named to the Shocker Volleyball Classic All-Tournament team. WSU and Illinois both had three players named to the team, the most out of all the schools.
