Alan Walker (Track, 1969-73)

Walker lettered four years at WSU (1969-73) in both track and cross country, and he captained the squad for two years. He was an NCAA All-American in cross country in 1972. In addition, he was a semifinalist in the 1500 meters at the 1972 Olympic Trials. Walker holds four Missouri Valley Conference records, won seven MVC individual championships, ran on three MVC championship teams, and still holds six WSU records, including outdoor mile (4:00.9), 880-yard run (1:50.3), outdoor 1500 meters (3:43.1), and indoor mile (4:01.5). He was the first four-minute miler in school history. Inducted, 1982.
