Texas State scored three runs on three hits to take a 3-1 lead after the top of the third.
The Bobcats had back-to-back singles from Courtney Harris and Koroll to set up runners on first and second with one out in the top of the third. Wiley then hit a three-run home run, her seventh of the season, that allowed Texas State to take a 3-1 lead.
Fortner answered the Bobcats' three-run top of the third with a solo home run to deep left-center (her second) in the bottom of the third, cutting the Texas State lead to 3-2 after three innings.
In the top of the fourth, Kimberlin Naivar hit a pinch-hit solo home run to answer Fortner's bottom of the third solo home run, extending the Bobcat lead back to a two-run lead at 4-2.
The Shockers scored one in the bottom of the sixth when Wright hit a RBI-single to shallow right, scoring Hunter Hogan (who pinch-ran for Broyles after she doubled) from second to cut the Bobcat lead to 4-3. Wright advanced to second on an error by Isabelle Barnes. Michelle Dixon pinch-hit for Kennedy Long and popped out to Ortiz to end the Wichita State sixth, as 4-3 later became the final score.
The Shockers resume their 2015 season when they travel to the Long Beach State Louisville Slugger Tournament from February 26-28 in Lakewood, Calif/Fullterton, Calif.
