NORMAN, Okla. – Despite an impressive top-20 singles win from Tin Ostojic, the Wichita State men's tennis dropped its spring opener at No. 2 Oklahoma, 6-1.
Ostojic, No. 114 in the ITA Division I rankings, took down 20th ranked Andrew Harris at the No. 1 singles spot, 6-2, 2-6, 6-3.
The Shockers (2-1 overall in 2014-15) played without senior Ilija Cuic but showed some flashes at times.
The doubles team of Ostojic and Gregurovic, ranked No. 17, lost a rematch of last fall's Central Region Championship to 38th-ranked team of Alvarez and Webb, 6-4.
OU finished out the doubles point with a win at the No. 3 spot.
OU, which has four singles players ranked inside the top 50, won Nos. 2-6 singles to close out a 6-1 victory.
The Shockers return home for their next four matches, beginning Jan. 30 against Creighton at Genesis. Match time is 1:00 p.m.
