OREM, Utah – Elizabeth Field and Ashley Andrade combined for 23 kills in a sweep over Utah Valley in the La Quinta Inn & Suites Invitational. The Shockers won by scores of 25-22, 25-23 and 25-19.

Field finished with 13 kills and hit .545, while Andrade had 10 kills and hit .450. Chelsey Feekin had six kills and 36 assists and Gaby Urban had nine digs.

Field and Feekin were both named to the all-tournament team.

Utah Valley used back-to-back kills to take a 6-4 lead in the first set before two kills and a block from Elizabeth Field gave the Shocks a 9-8 lead. Kills from Field and Katie Reilly increased the lead to 12-8 and a block from Sam Sanders and Ashley Andrade made the score 16-9. UVU used a 5-0 run to cut the lead to 19-17, but WSU closed out the set 25-22 on a kill from Sanders.

UVU used a 6-1 run to take a 10-7 lead in the second set. The Wolverines increased the lead to 16-11, but the Shockers started chipping away at the lead. A UVU hitting error pulled the Shocks to within 17-15 and a Reilly kill tied the score at 19. A service ace from Reilly gave the Shocks the lead at 23-22 and WSU won the set 25-23 on a kill from Field.

The third set went back-and-forth until three-straight Shocker kills gave WSU a 14-9 lead. A kill from Andrade increased the lead to 18-11 and the Wolverines got no closer than five the rest of the way in a 25-19 win.

The Shockers are next in action on Fri., Sept. 6 against Utah State at 12:30 p.m.
