WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita State women's tennis team defeated Bradley 7-0 on Sunday morning at Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex to even their record at 10-10 and stay undefeated in the Missouri Valley Conference.

The Shocker women captured all three doubles matches in order to gain a 1-0 advantage. Lucia Kovalova and Julia Schiller defeated Adele Henke and Sarah Rodefeld, 8-1, Montse Blasco Fernandez and Satjaporn Mahajaroenkul defeated Kennedy Scott and Carly, 8-1 and Veronika Blaskova and Summer Schlotterback took down Elizabeth Przystawski and Meredith McDonagh, 8-5.

Lucia Kovalova was first to finish in singles play to grab another point for Wichita State when she defeated Sarah Rodefeld in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. Carla Venticinque and Satjaporn Mahajaroenkul also won their matches in straight sets to clinch the match for the Shockers.

Montse Blasco Fernandez, Julia Schiller and Summer Schlotterback completed the sweep by also winning their singles contests.

“It was a really strong weekend,” head coach Colin Foster said. “Against Illinois State, our depth and experience at the bottom of the lineup helped us win those matches pretty comfortably.”

At the top with two freshman and a sophomore playing the top three, they competed well and they have been doing that all season,” added Foster. “We feel confident going into the last weekend of regular season play and the conference tournament.”

The Shockers will head to Evansvill, Ind. for a match against Evansville on Saturday, April 20 at 1 p.m.
