WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State dropped both games of Wednesday afternoon's doubleheader with No. 1/1 Oklahoma in front of a Wilkins Stadium record crowd of 717.

GAME ONE: Oklahoma 7, Wichita State 1

Callie Parsons bases loaded walk in the top of the second inning scored Jessica Shults and gave Oklahoma a 1-0 lead.

Wichita State sophomore Megan McCracken tied the game, 1-1, in the bottom of the third with a solo home run to left field off of reigning USA Softball Player of the Year Keilani Ricketts. The home run was McCracken's team-high fourth of the season.

The stalemate was broken when the Sooner offense busted out for four runs in the top of the fourth highlighted by Lauren Chamberlain's two-run double to left center.

Ricketts added a two-run home run in the top of the sixth to extend the Sooner lead to 7-1. The senior two-way threat and younger sister of Wichita State assistant coach Samantha Ricketts improved to 15-1 on the season allowing two hits and striking out nine.

GAME TWO: Oklahoma 16, Wichita State 1

Oklahoma proved why they been the consensus number one team in college softball this season in Wednesday's nightcap. 

Sooner shortstop Jessica Vest had a career-high evening going 2-for-2 with two home runs, a sacrifice fly, and seven RBI's.

Senior starting pitcher Michelle Gascoigne, the national leader in ERA entering the game, threw three shutout innings to improve her season record to 13-1. 

The Shockers lone run came in the bottom of the fifth when Kacie Eich, pinch running for McCracken, scored from third on an error by Vest.

Wichita State will return to Missouri Valley Conference play with a three-game home series Friday with a 2 p.m. doubleheader against Evansville.
