WICHITA, Kan.- The No. 65 Wichita State women's tennis team
fell to in-state opponent No. 45 Kansas State 4-2 on Saturday night at Wichita
Country Club.
Wichita State captured the doubles point to take an early
1-0 advantage when Carla Venticinque and Rebecca Pedrazzi defeated Ivana
Kubickova and Carmen Borau Ramos, 8-4, and Montse Blasco Fernandez and Satjaporn
Mahajaroenkul defeated Amina St. Hill and Gema Bolado-Yusta, 8-2.
Blasco Fernandez was the only Shocker to grab a point in
singles play however when she defeated Carmen Borau Ramos, 6-3, 6-4.
The Shocker women will face No. 20 Purdue on Monday,
February 25 at Wichita Country Club. First serve is set for 10 a.m.
