WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita State men's tennis team defeated
Bradley, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon to move to 13-4 on the season and 2-0 in the
Missouri Valley Conference.
The Shockers captured a point early by taking the doubles
point from the Braves. David Cavalcanti and Matheus Pereira defeated Juan Diego
Cuadrado and Justin Abrams, 8-4, and Juan Estenssoro and Erick Reyes defeated
Arthur Romanet and Ashton Kalhorn, 8-4, to put Wichita State up 1-0 early.
Wichita State did not let up in the singles competition. The
only match the Shockers would drop came when David Cavalcanti had to retire. Guillermo Nicol moved his singles winning streak to eleven, defeating
Juan Diego Cuadrado, 6-2, 6-3.
The Shockers
are back in action on Sunday against Illinois State at 10 a.m. The match will
take place at the Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex unless weather forces inside
to Genesis Health Club.
