WICHITA, Kan.- The No. 62 Wichita State men's tennis team
extended their winning streak to six matches on Saturday, defeating both Cowley
County and Bethany, 7-0, at Genesis Health Club.
The Shockers only allowed one match out of a total of twelve
singles matches on the day to go into three sets. They also won all six of
their doubles contests on the day.
Like many of his teammates, freshman Kester Black had a very
successful day. In the morning match against Cowley County, he defeated Dave
Chera, 6-0, 6-3. Black was then able to come back in the afternoon match
against Bethany to defeat Kane Olsen, 6-2, 6-2.
The Shocks will look to keep their streak alive next weekend
(March 16-17) when they travel to Fayetteville, Ark. to
take on Arkansas and Southern Mississippi.
