WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State volleyball student-athlete
Chelsey Feekin has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player-of-the-Week
for the period of Oct. 15-21.
Feekin, a junior setter from Papillion, Neb., led the
Shockers to a 2-0 record last week including road wins at Southern Illinois and
Evansville. She averaged 2.38 kills,
10.88 assists, 2.50 digs and 0.88 blocks per set while hitting .382. She also guided the Shockers to a .286 team
hitting percentage on the weekend.
In the four-set win at fourth-place SIU, Feekin had seven
kills, a career-high 49 assists, 10 digs and four blocks, while hitting .400 in
the match. She also guided the Shockers
to a .372 team hitting percentage.
In the four-set win at Evansville, Feekin had her second
triple-double of the season as she recorded 12 kills, 38 assists, 10 digs and
three blocks while hitting .368. Feekin,
who has led the nation in hitting percentage the last two weeks, tied her
career-high with the 12 kills. With her
second triple-double, she became just the second player in Shocker history to
record more than one career triple-double.
It is the second Player-of-the-Week honor of her career.
