- It was a successful day for the Wichita State Shocker (3-1, 1-0) as they
blanked the No. 33 Division II Washburn Icabods, 7-0 on Saturday afternoon at
Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex
"The guys came out focused and ready to play after a tough
match yesterday," head coach Brad Louderback said. "Washburn has a young, ranked team that as
they mature they will have a pretty good season and I was happy how we
performed today."
Junior David Cavalcanti and sophomore Matheus Pereira
defeated Phscal Laucht and Bobby Florence, 8-2 in the last match of the
doubles.
Freshman Patrick Steibinger, Guillermo Nicol and Juan
Estenssoro all picked up nice singles wins for the Shockers.
Next action for the Shockers will be Friday, February 25
against Oral Roberts. The match will
start at 2 p.m. and will be played at Genesis on Rock Road.
