The Wichita State men's tennis team traveled to Southern Illinois University for its last match of the weekend. The Shockers fell to the Saluki's, 5-2.

The Shockers started good with a win from Goran Vujaklija and Boris Gubic in the No. 1 doubles position against Andrei Bubnov and Rodrigo Lama, 8-4. The dual is currently undefeated in Missouri Valley Conference play, 3-0. Thiago Dos Santos and Tiago Espirito Santo then lost a tough match to Feilpe Villasenor and Sergio Sanchez, 8-5. Augusto Alvarado and Moti Eisikovits then also fell to Tomas Gonzalez and Bojan Ilievski, 8-5.

Vujaklija then defeated the Saluki's No. 1 singles player, Villasenor, 6-1, 6-2. He is currently undefeated in Conference matches, defeating the defending No. 1 singles champion last weekend from Missouri State. Gubic then lost a close match to Lama, 6-4, 6-2. Espirito Santo then lost a tough match to Sanchez, 6-0, 4-6, 6-2. Dos Santos also fell to Bubnov, 6-4, 7-5. Alvarado then had a very competitive match with Gonzalez, where he fell, 7-6, 3-6, 6-4. Eisikovits then won his match against Nick Bauer, 6-1, 6-3.

WSU will now prepare for their match up against Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Ok. on Wednesday, April 12th at 2 p.m.
