WICHITA, Kan. -- Wichita State Athletics has announced that this year's Shocker Madness event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 6:00 p.m., inside Charles Koch Arena and feature a performance by Grammy winning artist Lupe Fiasco.
In addition to being a Grammy winning artist, Lupe Fiasco has recorded multiple chart-topping songs and been involved with numerous other hits as a featured artist. He has more than 20 million sold combined albums and singles and is popular on social media with more than 3.2 million followers on Facebook and 1 million followers on X. His most popular song "The Show Goes On" has amassed 160+ million views on YouTube and 390+ million plays on Spotify. His other most notable songs include Superstar (featuring Matthew Santos) and Battle Scars (with Guy Sebastian).
Shocker Madness will also feature performances from the Shocker Sound Machine and WSU Spirit Squads, a recognition of last year's national championship cheer team, announcements of this year's Shocktoberfest spirit awards and Shocker Royalty winners, introductions of all Wichita State Athletics teams in addition to the basketball teams, a three-point contest and basketball team scrimmages.
Doors to Charles Koch Arena open at 5:00 P.M. for the free event and parking is free on a first-come, first-serve basis.
No tickets are required to attend. Wichita State University students should enter through the ticket office entrance on the southwest side of the arena to scan their WSU ID as they enter. General admission seating will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis as arena occupancy allows. Select seating sections within the arena will be reserved for Wichita State University students (sections 117 & 118), Shocker student-athletes and university personnel.
The clear-bag policy and opengate, walk-through metal detectors, and all other regular arena policies will be enforced for those entering Charles Koch Arena.
This year's Shocker Madness event once again serves as the culmination of Wichita State University's Shocktoberfest.
