Rachel Swartz

Rachel Swartz joined the Shockers as an assistant women's basketball coach in June of 2026.
 
Swartz joins the Shockers after spending the last three seasons as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Seattle University. Prior to her time in Seattle, Swartz was assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Saint Mary’s College during the 2022-23 season and spent two seasons as the head coach of Division II Davis & Elkins College in West Virginia. In April of 2026, she served as a WNBA Player Scout for the Washington Mystics at the Nike Hoop Summit in Portland, Ore, conducting in-person scouting of top international and U.S. junior prospects.
 
From 2013-17, Swartz played basketball for Missouri State, facing Wichita State in the Missouri Valley Conference. The Bears won the 2015-16 Missouri Valley Conference Championship and made a trip to the NCAA First Round. In Swartz’s time at Missouri State, the Bears were 72-57. She graduated from Missouri State in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies with minors in political science and sociology. After graduation, she served a graduate assistantship at Drury University in 2018-19, where the team went 35-1 and made a run to the NCAA Division II Final Four. Swartz graduated from Drury with a Master of Arts in Communication Studies in Non-Profit Organization Leadership and Change in 2019.
