Mandy Willems

Mandy Willems was promoted to assistant coach and video coordinator in the spring of 2025 after serving as a graduate assistant for the women’s basketball program during the 2024-25 season.

Willems graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2022, where she played basketball for and was mentored by Wichita State assistant coach Patrick Harrison, setting the Roos’ record for three-point field goals made in a half (7) in 2021.

Prior to Kansas City, Willems played for North Iowa Area CC in 2018-19, where she helped Trojans to a 28-7 finish and an NJCAA Region XI Championship, advancing to the NJCAA DII National Tournament. She averaged 24.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game, while shooting 38.3 percent from beyond the arc and 91.1 percent from the charity stripe. Willems led the nation at all levels with 186 made threes during the year. Willems was named First Team All-NJCAA Region XI, NJCAA Region XI Tournament MVP, NJCAA Region XI Player of the Year and earned a selection to the NJCAA DII All-American First Team.

Willems served as a volunteer assistant coach for Johnson County Community College women’s basketball in 2022-23.
