Amy Pollard-Yarberry was named the head coach of the Wichita State dance team on June 9, 2025, and is in her first season with the program.
Pollard-Yarberry brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the position, having worked as a dance instructor and choreographer since 2008. She has served as head dance coach at Newton High School since 2014 and has been an adjunct professor at Wichita State University since 2010, where she teaches hip-hop and jazz.
In addition to her coaching and teaching roles, Pollard-Yarberry has served as a competition team director for Newton Performing Arts Center and a judge for The Dance Effect, a national youth dance competition. She has also taught dancers aged 4–18 at the Newton Performing Arts Center since 2007.
Pollard-Yarberry's performance background includes international tours with the Wichita Contemporary Dance Theater, with appearances in Taiwan (2008) and Italy (2012). Her foundational training took place at Diamond Gymnastics and Dance Academy in Overland Park, Kansas, from 2004 to 2007. She has also contributed choreography to dance teams at the high school, collegiate, and university levels, including programs at Iowa State, Wichita State, and Western Michigan.
She is a proud mom to two daughters, Adalyn and Hadley, and has a husband, Bryan.
