Tami Cutler

Tami Cutler

Tami Cutler begins her 26th year in the Wichita State strategic communications office and eighth as the Associate AD for strategic communications. She oversees the communications department in athletics and serves as the administrator for the spirit squad and the Hall of Fame.

Before becoming Associate AD, Cutler worked in the media relations office at WSU for 18 years. She was the SID for baseball for 18 years, volleyball for 15 years and men's and women's golf for one year. As an SID, she worked with nine NCAA Tournament baseball teams, 11 NCAA Tournament volleyball teams and one NCAA Tournament men's and women's golf team.

She served as the media coordinator at the 2007 NCAA Wichita Regional and Super Regional in baseball and at the 2017 Wichita NCAA First/Second Rounds in volleyball.

From 2015-17, she was a practitioner in the Wichita State sport management program and taught the Sport Public Relations class. She was named Wichita State Sport Management Practitioner of the Year in 2016-17.

Before coming to WSU, Cutler worked for four years in the sports information office at Doane College in Crete, Neb., where she also earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management in 2000. 

The Milligan, Neb. native earned a master’s degree in sport administration at WSU in 2002.

Her 2001 baseball media guide received recognition from CoSIDA as the third-best media guide in the nation and the second best in the district, while her 2005 volleyball media guide received the Viggo M. Nelson National Collegiate Media Guide Award. 

Cutler is a member of College Sports Communicators, NACMA, Women Leaders in College Sports, the WSU Alumni Association, the WSU Sport Management Alumni Association and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association where she served as president during the 2011-12 season.

In her free time, she serves as a volunteer at the Alzheimer's Association, while also being a baseball mom and dance mom.

She has a son Brett and a daughter Claire.
