Biography

As a Junior:

Named to the Missouri Valley All-Conference team in No. 3 doubles with partner Florentina Hanisch...Posted an overall singles record of 18-12...Went 16-11 overall in doubles with Hanisch...Finished 6-0 in the Missouri Valley at No. 5 singles...Picked up several impressive non-conference victories...Beat Jana Mackova of No. 43 Boise State in straight sets (6-4, 6-2)...Defeated Katie Welch from No. 52 South Alabama (6-2, 7-5)...Won against Diana Mendez of Drake (6-4, 6-2)...Combined with Hanisch, the pair defeated Alexandra Kichoutkin and Jie Zeng of No. 38 Tulsa (8-7)...In the fall, Browning advanced to the final round at the MVC Individual Championships after defeating Illinois State’s Veronique Parke-Bedard in a three set semi-final decision (6-2, 6-7, 6-2)...Went 2-1 with Hanisch at the Johan Kriek Classic.

As a Sophomore:

Named to 2007 Women's Tennis All-Conference Team at No. 6 Singles...Defeated Indiana State's Marie Caujolle 6-4, 6-2 to win the MVC No. 5 Singles Championship...Won nine-straight matches to start spring season, including wins over players from Nebraska, Kansas State, Nevada, and SMU...Went 3-0 with Jackie Richey at No. 3 Doubles in the MVC Individual Championship.

As a Freshman:

Torrie posted 8-10 record in singles this fall. She started her first season at WSU with a big win over Nebraska's Milena Shulz-Gartner who was ranked 39th at the end of last year at ITA Central Regional Championship. She won the qualifying draw and made it to the main draw at her first appearance at the ITA Regionals. Posted great wins over players from University of Kansas and Oklahoma State in the fall season.

Prior to WSU:

Torrie was #1 player in the USTA Southwest Section Girls 16 in 2004. #8 player in the USTA Southwest Section for Girls 18 in 2004. Torrie made Arizona's top 100 athletes for the year of 2004. She won two consecutive A2 4A Arizona State High school championships in 2004 and 2005. Tucson Citizen Female Tennis Palyer of the year in 2004 and 2005. Was inducted into the Pima county sports Hall of Fame.
