Biography

As a Junior…Collected accolades for her ability on and off the court…Named to the All-MVC singles and doubles teams…Also earned honorable mention on the MVC Scholar-Athlete team…Posted a 23-7 overall singles record, including a 16-4 mark in the spring season…Remained perfect in conference play to finish the season with a 7-0 record…Closed the season strong, winning eight her final ten matches…That stretch included the straight-sets victory she earned over #36 Tulsa’s Ewa Szatkowska, 6-3, 7-5…Won every conference match-up in straight sets…Played a majority of the season in the No. 5 and No. 6 position...In the fall, Hanisch compiled a 7-3 record, with three of those wins coming against ranked opponents...Beat Julie Tukuafu of #63 Utah, 7-6 (3), 6-2...Went 3-0 in the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Preseason Tournament...Finished the fall at the Midwest Blast, where she went 2-1...That tournament witnessed her defeating Kyla Iwinski from #39 Denver, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 and #33 Illinois' Marisa Lambropoulos, 5-7, 6-1, 7-5.

As a Sophomore...Named to the Missouri Valley All-Conference team in No. 3 doubles with partner Torrie Browning...Posted an overall singles record of 20-13 playing in No. 2 and No. 3 positions...Went 6-1 in conference playing No. 2 singles...Notable victories include her comeback win against Carla Zabaleta    (1-6, 6-4, 6-2) from No. 38 University of Tulsa...Showed her tenacity again when she defeated Meghana Paritala (5-7, 6-0, 10-6) of Northern Iowa...In the spring season, Hanisch and Browning went 12-7 overall and 5-1 in the Missouri Valley...The pair defeated No. 38 University of Tulsa’s duo Alexandra Kichoutkin and Jie Zeng, 8-7...Beat Marie Caujolle and Valeriia Petrovych from conference champion Indiana State...In the fall, Hanisch went 3-1 in the consolation bracket at the Wilson/ITA Central Regional Championship, including a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Utah’s Eugenia Kryuchkova.

As a Freshman...Hanisch opened play for WSU by playing three straight nationally ranked players...she finished the Gopher Invitational in fourth place...Was named to the 2007 Missouri Valley Conference Women's Tennis All-Conference Team at No. 1 Doubles with partner Madina Rakhim...Also named to MVC All-Select Team...Named MVC Player-of-the-Week Jan. 30 after sweeping her matches against Wyoming and Nebraska.
